Spotify
Whether you’re listening to a podcast or music, this streaming service is one of the best out there. Spotify curates a number of playlists for its listeners to listen to, such as the Discover Weekly playlist, and has a number of stations that you can listen to expand your music taste. They also create and advertise playlists that you can listen to based on your music preferences. For example, if you have an indie-pop taste, “Sad Girl Starter Pack,” “Pumpkin Spice,” “Stay in Bed,” “Wanderlust,” and “My Life is a Movie” are some of the playlists that may interest you.
Spotify also has the ability to be used without paying anything, which is something that none of the other streaming platforms on this list have. Unfortunately, there are several advertisements you’ll have to listen to, and you can’t choose the songs you listen to on the free version.
Apple Music
If Spotify’s interface isn’t for you, Apple Music is probably your best friend. Apple Music has 90 million tracks available and has spatial audio albums available to listen to. If you’re invested in the Apple universe, you may feel like this is the best option for you. If you have an Apple HomePod or an Apple Mini, Apple Music is the default music subscription service to use. If you have an iPod Touch, you may find that Apple Music is the best choice for you. Apple Music also offers curated playlists for its users, but the sharing options aren’t as built up as Spotify’s.
Qobuz
Qobuz is a streaming service that sounds incredible on an Android phone or a music system. While it doesn’t have Dolby Atmos like other services offer, it’s still a good service. Qobuz currently has 70 million tracks available, rivaling Spotify in number. However, it may not have the obscure artists that others may have. Qobuz focuses on hi-res recordings, so if you’re a jazz or classical music fan, this is the service for you. It also gives you the ability to purchase music, unlike Spotify.
